Austen Vernon

Associate

Austen Vernon is an associate at Vernon & Ginsburg and has worked at the firm since he graduated from Fordham Law in 2019. While in law school and as an undergraduate at Duke, he interned at the firm and at Bronx Legal Services. Austen focuses on litigation and transactional work in real estate including housing matters, residential and commercial leasing, real estate closings, as well as trusts and estates. His expertise includes conducting legal research, drafting motions and memoranda, settlement negotiations, HPD proceedings, and navigating Surrogate’s Court. Austen first became passionate about New York housing law during his experience helping tenants at Bronx Legal Services.


Before transitioning to law, Austen graduated from Duke University undergrad and co-founded a successful ticketing platform called SquadUP. He is an avid basketball fan and point guard, playing for the Mount Vernon AAU and Duke Club teams. Austen is also an active board member for several charities including the Team G: Gardner Marks Foundation that he helped start in order to support the Pediatric, Adolescent, and Young Adult cancer community.
